Meetings between representatives of the Ministries of Agriculture of Kazakhstan and the Netherlands were held in The Hague to strengthen long-term cooperation in agricultural development, the Embassy of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the Kingdom of the Netherlands reports. The parties discussed prospects for expanding collaboration in sustainable agrotechnologies, improving production efficiency, introducing innovations, and enhancing scientific and research cooperation.
A separate part of the discussions focused on Kazakhstan’s progress toward joining the International Union for the Protection of New Varieties of Plants (UPOV). The Dutch side expressed readiness to provide expert support in harmonizing legislation and implementing modern mechanisms for protecting intellectual property in plant breeding.

The parties noted the positive dynamics in implementing the agreements of the joint working group and outlined priority areas for further cooperation.
The development of educational programs and professional training for the agricultural sector was also addressed. Both sides expressed interest in expanding academic exchanges, internships, and joint educational initiatives.
