According to the Akimat of the North Kazakhstan Region, one of the largest and most technologically advanced mushroom farms in Kazakhstan has been commissioned in the region. The project was implemented on the territory of the Qyzyljar Special Economic Zone with the support of the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan and financing from the Ministry of Agriculture.
Over the past few years, investment volumes in the North Kazakhstan Region have doubled, with local entrepreneurs actively involved in the implementation of major investment projects. The facility is part of the regional experience replication program and is aimed at developing the processing industry of the region.
The total investment volume of the project amounts to approximately KZT 11.3 billion. The enterprise plans to grow and process up to 2,400 tonnes of mushroom products per year. The project contributes to job creation, increases the share of domestically produced goods on the domestic market, and supports import substitution.
Further plans include the launch of a compost production plant with a capacity of up to 4,000 tonnes per year, as well as the expansion of the mushroom farm’s production capacity to 4,800 tonnes annually.
